Ojha made way for Virat Kohli and Munaf. New Zealand made three changes to the
eleven that last played the Indians – Peter Ingram, Jacob Oram and Daryl Tuffey
made way for BJ Watling, Nathan McCullum and Tim Southee.
On winning the toss, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, India's skipper, chose to bat. Their openers didn’t get off the mark. Dinesh Karthik, who faced three balls, didn’t get off the mark. Three balls into the mark, he was caught by Gareth Hopkins off the bowling of Kyle Mills.
