Ashish Nehra made way for Reetinder Singh Sodhi, Harvinder Singh and Debasis

The West Indies made half-a-dozen changes to the eleven that last played the Indians – Sherwin Campbell, Brian Lara, Jimmy Adams, Ricardo Powell, Corey Collymore and Courtney Walsh made way for Daren Ganga, Wavell Hinds, Carl Hooper (who was leading the team), Marlon Samuels, Mahendra Nagamootoo and Cameron Cuffy.
On winning the toss, Sourav Ganguly, India’s skipper, inserted the West Indians. Chris, who faced five balls, didn’t get off the mark. Nine balls later, he was trapped (Gay)leg before wicket by Harvinder, who broke the two-run stand.
