While India made
no changes to their playing eleven, South Africa made half-a-dozen changes to
the eleven that played the Indians – Herschelle Gibbs, Neil McKenzie, Hansie
Cronje, Nantie Hayward, Steve Elworthy and Makhaya Ntini made way for Andrew
Hall, Boeta Dippenaar, Jonty Rhodes, Shaun Pollock (who was leading the team),
Roger Telemachus and Allan Donald.
