Just over six months after he last led India on the tour of New Zealand, Mahendra Singh Dhoni was back as their skipper.
Owing to
rain, the first One-day International between India and England (who were captained
by Alastair Cook) was abandoned without a ball bowled.
There was no
toss.
The
five-match series was level 0-0.
But after
that gloomy day at Gloucestershire’s home ground, the teams proceeded to play the
next match in Wales, and all was well.
