India made a couple of changes to their playing eleven – Suresh Raina and Umesh Yadav made way for One-day International debutant Kedar Jadhav and Ravichandran Ashwin.

On winning
the toss, Angelo Mathews, Sri Lanka’s skipper and the player of the match,
chose to bat.
The first
Powerplay of Sri Lanka’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay – was
between the first and the 10th over. They scored 52, and lost a
couple of wickets.
Dickwella,
who faced 10 balls, scored just four. Twenty-eight balls into the match, he was
caught by Ambati Rayudu. Dhawal Kulkarni broke the 32-run stand.
Tillakaratne
Dilshan, whose 24-ball innings included seven boundaries, scored 35. Eight
balls later, Stuart Binny broke the 13-run stand.
Sri Lanka
scored 50 off 9.3 overs (57 balls). India had conceded half-a-dozen extras at
that point.
Dinesh
Chandimal, who faced 31 balls, scored just five. Fifty-two balls after
Dilshan’s dismissal, he was caught by Rohit Sharma. Axar Patel broke the 28-run
stand.

Mathews
bowled seven overs, including a maiden. He conceded 33, picking up a couple of
wickets. Mendis, who bowled 9.4 overs, conceded 73. He picked up four scalps.
India swept
the five-match series 5-0.
