Dravid-led India WIn another match

India made a couple of changes to their playing eleven – Suresh Raina and Sreesanth made way for Joginder Sharma and Ramesh Powar. The West Indies made just one change to their playing eleven – Brian Lara made way for Devon Smith.

On winning the toss, Rahul Dravid, India’s skipper, chose to bat. Gautam Gambhir, who faced 11 balls, scored a couple. Fifteen balls (Ramd)into the match, he was caught by Denesh. Ian Bradshaw broke the four-run stand.

Sourav Ganguly, whose 25-ball innings included a boundary, scored 13. Thirty-seven balls later, he was caught by Runako Morton. Daren Powell broke the 31-run stand.

The second Powerplay of India’s innings was between the 11th and the 15th over. The (Smi)third-wicket pair didn’t get off the mark. Sachin Tendulkar, who faced half-a-dozen balls, didn’t open his account. A dozen balls later, he was caught by Devon off the bowling of Powell.

Dravid, whose 34-ball innings included four boundaries, scored 22. Twenty-five balls later, Powell broke the 11-run stand. Eighty-nine balls into the match, the first drinks break was taken. India had scored 46 for the loss of four wickets at that point. Dinesh Karthik, the player of the match, was batting on 35.

The third Powerplay of India’s innings was between the 16th and the 20th over. India scored 50 off 16.1 overs. The West Indies had conceded four extras at that point. The West Indies eventually conceded 24 extras. India were dismissed for 189 off 48.2 overs. Chris Gayle, the West Indies’ skipper, bowled an over, conceding 13. He was wicketless, as was Jerome Taylor, who bowled 10 overs, including a maiden. He conceded 38. Dwayne Smith bowled nine overs, including a maiden. He conceded 34, picking up a wicket.

Bravo bowled 8.2 overs, including a maiden. He conceded 36, picking up a couple of wickets. Bradshaw bowled 10 overs, including a couple of maidens. He conceded 38, picking up a couple of wickets. Powell bowled 10 overs, including a couple of maidens. He conceded 27, picking up four scalps.

Gayle, whose run-a-ball innings included a boundary, scored five. Seven balls later, he was trapped leg before wicket by Agarkar, who broke the five-run stand.

India led the four-match series 2-0.
