India made no changes to their playing eleven.
The West Indies made three changes to the eleven that
last played the Indians – Ramnaresh Sarwan, Dwayne Bravo and Ravi Rampaul made
way for Devon Smith, Denesh Ramdin and Tino Best.

The first Powerplay of India’s innings – which was the
mandatory Powerplay – was between the first and the 10th over. They
scored 39, for the loss of a couple of wickets.
Shikhar Dhawan, whose 10-ball innings included a
couple of boundaries, scored 11. Twenty-six balls into the match, he was caught
by Kemar Roach, who broke the 25-run stand.
Virat Kohli, whose 21-ball innings included a six,
scored 11. Twenty-nine balls later, he was caught by Chris Gayle. Daren Sammy
broke the 14-run stand.

Seventeen overs into the match, the first drinks break
