India made no changes to their playing eleven.
New Zealand made three changes to the eleven that last
played the Indians – James Neesham, Doug Bracewell and Ish Sodhi made way for
Anton Devcich, Matt Henry and Trent Boult.
On winning the toss, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, India’s
skipper, inserted the visitors.
The first Powerplay of New Zealand’s innings – which
was the mandatory Powerplay – was between the first and the 10th
over. They scored 50, and lost a wicket.
New Zealand’s openers failed to get off the mark.
Guptill, who faced a couple of balls, didn’t open his account. A couple of
