skipper, chose to bat.
The first Powerplay of the West Indies’ innings –
which was the mandatory Powerplay – was between the first and the 10th
over. They scored 49, for the loss of a wicket.
Lewis, who faced 20 balls, scored just nine. Fifty
balls (Ev)into the match, he was caught by Virat Kohli, India’s skipper and the
player of the match. Hardik Pandya broke the 39-run stand.
The second Powerplay of the West Indies’ innings –
which was the mandatory Powerplay – was between the 11th and the 40th
over. They scored 115, for the loss of four wickets.
The West Indies scored 50 off 10.2 overs (62 balls).
India had conceded a couple of extras at that point.
Kyle Hope, whose 50-ball innings included nine
boundaries, scored 46. Forty-five balls after Lewis’ dismissal, he was caught
by Shikhar Dhawan. Umesh Yadav broke the 37-run stand.

Sixteen overs into the match, the West Indies sought a

Ashley Nurse, who faced four balls, didn’t get off the

The number of extras they had conceded at that point gave India no reason to be

Alzarri Joseph, who faced five balls, scored three. He
was unbeaten, as was Kesrick Williams, who faced a couple of balls, failing to

Kuldeep and Ravindra Jadeja bowled 10 wicketless overs
apiece. While the former conceded 36, the latter, whose spell including a

Williams and Holder bowled eight wicketless overs
apiece. While the former conceded 40, the latter, whose spell included a maiden,

Joseph bowled seven overs, conceding 39. He picked up
a wicket, as did Bishoo, who bowled eight overs, conceding 42.
India won the five-match series 3-1.
