India made a
couple of changes to their playing (Pat)eleven – Praveen Kumar and Munaf made
way for Virender Sehwag and Sreesanth. Australia made just one change to the
eleven that last played the Indians – Mitchell Johnson made way for Brett Lee.
On winning the
toss, Ricky Ponting, Australia’s skipper and the player of the match, chose to
bat. Although his innings included three boundaries, Adam Gilchrist had no
reason to be in seventh heaven – he scored just 16. Fifteen balls into the
match, he was caught by Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Sreesanth broke the 21-run stand.
