Neither
India nor England made any changes to their playing eleven.
On winning
the toss, Alastair Cook, England’s skipper, chose to bat.
The first
Powerplay of England’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay – was
between the first and the 10th over. They scored 40 and lost a
wicket – that of Cook, who faced 10 balls, scoring just three. Nineteen balls
into the match, he was trapped leg before wicket by Vinay Kumar, who broke the
eight-run stand.

While the former conceded 69, the latter conceded 50.
Swann bowled
10 overs, conceding 59. He picked up a wicket. Bresnan bowled 7.2 overs,
conceding 62. He picked up a couple of scalps, as did Finn, who bowled 10
overs, conceding 44.
India led
the five-match series 3-0. In fact, they won the series with a couple of
matches to spare.
